£130

Marine Radio (SRC) The Short Range Certificate is the minimum qualification required by law to control the operation of VHF and VHF Digital Selective Calling (DSC) equipment on any British flagged vessel voluntarily fitted with a radio. This includes both fixed and hand held equipment using International channels.

The VHF SRC course is a recommended course prior to taking an examination to gain your user license. BH Marine has an integrated suite of model and land based VHF units that allow us to take you through the course with realistic materials and settings. Our instructors are well versed and have a great sense of humour, so even the more technical aspects will be dealt with in a way that encourages a fun learning environment. There is no age limit for the SRC course, but candidates must be 16 or over to take the written exam.

Course subjects include:

  • Routine operation of marine VHF radio including Digital Selective Calling
