Founded in 2005, BH Marine has grown into one of the South Coast's leading independent maritime businesses, providing professional marine services throughout the UK and internationally.

Based in Weymouth, Dorset, we specialise in RYA and MCA training, marine consultancy, yacht surveys, yacht deliveries, commercial skippering, charter services and marine business support. Meet Our Founder – Ben Harris

BH Marine was founded by Ben Harris, who has worked full-time within the marine industry since 2002.
Ben's passion for boating began at an early age, learning to sail as a toddler aboard a traditional clinker-built boat in Padstow, Cornwall. That passion continued throughout his studies in Business at the University of Southampton, where weekends were spent sailing and developing practical seamanship that would eventually become a lifelong career.
Today, Ben is the Managing Director of both BH Marine Academy LLP and BH Marine Consultancy Ltd, combining commercial experience with thousands of miles of practical offshore and coastal boating.

Completed all modules in preparation for the oral exam MCA Chief Mate 3,000 GT qualification at Warsash Maritime Academy – Southampton, maintaining and improving my Captains licence to the highest MCA standards.

In additional Ben manages a team of loyal instructors, captains, engineers and yacht management workers who share the same fun and informal approach whilst been safe at sea and covering syllabuses governed by the RYA and rules and regulations by the MCA and IMO professionally.
