At the heart of BH Marine are our core principles. We provide the best, up to date and professional advice, consulting and tuition. Our staff and skippers are qualified to deliver the services we operate. Safety is our first concern. We always operate to the highest maritime safety standards to ensure vessels and crew are cared for. Ultimately, we love our work and hope that we are able to instil the sense of fun and enjoyment that we get from working with you.
BH Marine can provide a great deal of equipment for use on marine courses. We have adequate wet weather gear in our classroom that can be used by clients. We often suggest brings a pen and paper just in case you would like to make notes on the training materials. If you are taking an RYA course, we require two passport photographs to be brought with you on the day and proof of ID.
Even when the sun is shining, appropriate clothing is the most common problem on the water. You must wear appropriate level of cover, bearing in mind that spray and wind will cause the conditions to feel colder than they actually are. A windcheater and full length trousers and sweatshirt are advised along with warm clothing that can be worn under waterproofs. Even on a sunny day, these should be brought along. On powerboats, footwear is likely to get wet, so ensure appropriate, non-mark shoes are used and a potential change of footwear is available for when the course is over. Please bring sunglasses to avoid glare and sunscreen are essential.
