Marine Surveyor South UK & Europe: What BH Marine Surveying Covers
BH Marine provides professional marine surveying across the South of the UK and throughout Europe. The work is not limited to one marina or county: surveys may be undertaken wherever the vessel is lying, subject to access, travel and the practical arrangements required for inspection.
What types of survey are covered
Survey work includes pre-purchase surveys, insurance and condition surveys, valuation surveys, damage inspections and other technical inspections agreed with the client. The precise scope should always be confirmed before attendance so that the inspection matches the client's purpose.
How the vessel is examined
The survey is based on visual examination, physical inspection and appropriate non-destructive testing where access and vessel condition permit. Typical methods include percussion testing, moisture-meter readings where suitable, inspection of accessible structural members, examination of machinery and systems, testing of installed equipment where safe to do so, and review of available documentation.
South of the UK coverage
BH Marine regularly works across the South Coast, including Dorset, Hampshire, the Solent and surrounding boating areas. Attendance elsewhere in southern England can be arranged according to the vessel location and survey requirements.
European survey work
For vessels located in Europe, the same professional approach applies. Travel arrangements, haul-out, marina access and any local restrictions should be agreed in advance. Where a haul-out is required, the client or broker should arrange suitable lifting and access unless otherwise agreed.
What the client receives
The client receives a written report setting out what was inspected, how the relevant areas were examined, defects or observations found, and recommendations for rectification or further investigation where required. A valuation can also be provided where this forms part of the agreed scope.
Before booking
For an accurate quotation, provide the vessel make and model, year, construction material, length, current location, intended survey type and whether a haul-out or sea trial is required. This allows the survey scope and travel requirements to be confirmed before attendance.
